Located within the Menemen mixed-use development in Izmir, the café was designed around the spatial potential of its double-height volume. The visual connection between the lower and upper seating areas was preserved, while a perforated metal screen along the gallery edge became one of the main elements defining the interior’s industrial character. Natural light from the large glazed façades is balanced by white brick, metal, timber and patterned flooring. Different seating arrangements were developed to support a range of uses, from short meetings to longer stays. The double-height space, material palette and varied seating zones were considered together to create a café interior that combines open social areas with more defined places to sit and work.
